Win a Free One Week’s Accommodation in Dubrovnik. How?

Guide2Croatia has teamed up with Croatia Gems Ltd - a UK villa rental company specializing in Croatia, to offer a fantastic FREE 7 night stay in a 1 bedroom apartment for 2, in Dubrovnik. Click here to see more information on the 2 apartments you can choose from if you win!

Dubrovnik is a fabulous holiday destination with its idyllic coastline - chill out in some of the newer chique, stylish beach club style cafe bars like East West on Banje Beach, or go back in time and meander through the old town winding streets and soak up the magical charm of the more traditional eateries. If you want to venture further afield, there are plentiful activities and places to visit - how about sea kayaking to an island? Or maye be even a trip to nearby Montenegro?

Your apartment has the most stunning views - it looks across to the pretty Island of Lokrum - perfect for a daytrip to swim and sunbathe on its shorers, and looks over the Old Town of Dubrovnik - so pretty with teracotta roofs and little harbour. The views from the apartment are amazing and it is also just a short wander into the old town itself which is full of charm.

The holiday must be taken subject to availability between 1st September 2009 - 1st May 2010. September  is a gorgeous time to visit - the weather is usually lovely and hot and the sea is warm and beautiful for swimming! If traveling from abroad, the flight is not included but flights can be booked easily with Flybe or Easyjet for example for around £80 Return!- click here for more flights info!

COPACABANA BEACH - This is a very nice beach which is great for families as the water is quite shallow and there is a
toboggan for children. There are also a lot of watersports such as watersking and windsurfing which will appeal to the sports-minded tourist.

Banje beach is well located and the most famous Dubrovnik pebble beach with a beautiful view to the Old town. It is a place to see and to be seen, where the rich and beautiful come to get some tan and the rest of the world comes to watch.

I belong to the group .... rest of the world... lol

I think Croatia is a Gem of a place. I've so far only been once and found it wonderful the people there were so friendly. I spent a lot of time on the water on a boat but there are so many great beaches, the best family beach was Copacabana - though Barry Manilow was no where to be seen. The best hidden beach is Kolocep. There are many nudist beaches also spotable from a boat -Trstenica, Milini, Sunji and Lokrum. There are so many other beaches - Plat, Banje, Lapad and Sv Jakov to name just a few. I spent so much time on this boat the other people in the Hotel thought I was going to do a "Shirley Valentine", and guess what I was so tempted it's the best place I have ever been to.

This is a tough one because Dubrovnik is simply beautiful and is my favourite place in the whole world (I've only been there once but it's where my husband proposed so I'd love to go back and relive the happy memories!). Copacabana beach wins my vote - it was the only beach we had the opportunity to visit but is was gorgeous. A great place for water sports too!

I'm a little disappointed that in your articles you have very good descriptions of the beaches, but you haven't named the photos in the article. Would be nice to know what beaches are in the photos, and maybe even have photos of all the beaches you have named there!

I've never been to Dubrovnik, or Croatia. Anyway, I had a look at the list of beaches and Google showed me some photos of them. Based on that, the choice is between Uvala Lapad Beach (and maybe the Hideaways as well? Didn't find a photo of it) and Lokrum Island. With Uvala Lapad I'm in love with the laguun-like sea and beautiful views. It very much remind me of the French riviera, but more exotic. Lokrum Island is obviously totally different with the cliffs, but there seem to be some private spots out there - always better if you don't have to lay down like a chicken between all the other tourists on a public beach. I rather sit down on a cliff and enjoy the small sounds from the sea.

Therefor, the day I visit Croatia I hope to be able to see both. I'm also very surprised that I've never thought about Croatia as a holiday destination before this. It's not promoted that much (at least not here in Finland), my friends haven't recommended it.. I simply didn't know that it's so beautiful there, but now I do! So a week would be extremely fun to win.

i am not surprised there are more comments on htis part than any other.
dubrovnik has to be one of the most beautiful cities i ahve ever visited.
i have done lots of charity work in bosnia and the charity i was working with www.phoenixaid.org.uk was expanding in croatia.
i visited dubrovnik last year (2008) for a long weekend of relaxationtime out from the ahrd work with the charity and loved it.
i've wanted to go back ever since
the people are warm and friendly, helpful and cheery.
i just read in the political comment that croatia is suffering the economic crisis it's a shame such a beautiful country. it has inspired me to write a booksci- fi but based on the landscaping.
