Description:
Krk is the largest island in the Kvarner archipelago and Adriatic. It covers an area of 409km2 and is joined by bridge to the mainland. The Capital of the Island is Krk town a popular destination for tourists with its maze of stone cobbled streets. The main resorts are the modern resorts of Malinska, Njivice and Baska. The main beaches are found in the south west of the island, Baska has a popular sandy beach and Punat has a large Marina.
To visit: Omisalj with its attractive old town, the Cathedral of Assumption of Mary built on the site of a 5th Century church, the City sentinel (1493) in the main square of Krk town and Kosljun island with its Franciscan monastry which is reached by boat from Punat.
