Kanfanar, Istria, Croatia

Description:

Kanfanar is located in central Istria, 20km north east of Rovinj. Its economy based on Agriculture and Livestock.

During WW11  German soldiers bombarded the town and then burnt many buildings to the ground. They also executed many of its inhabitants, who are remembered locally as the September Victims.

To see: town of Dvigrad (archeological site - medieval abandoned town)

Events: Summer festivals: Jakovlja celebrated last Saturday in July, along with Boskarin Day (dedicated to breed of Istrian cattle).
