Rab is an island in the northern Adriatic forming part of the Kvarner archipelago. The island is 22km long with 40% of its surface covered by woodland. Rab is renowned for its medieval architecture and long sandy beaches with some of the best beaches in Croatia. Rab benefits from 2499 hours of sunshine a year with long hot summers (average 23.2 C in July) and mild winters (average temp 6.7C) and an average annual temperature of 15.3C. The sea temperature reaches 24 C in summer. Apart from the town of Rab there are 7 other main villages; Lopar, Mundanija, Supetarska Draga, Kampor, Banjol, Palit and Barbat. The Ferry routes to the mainland are Jablanac-Misnjak and Senj-Lopar.
