Ferries
- There are plenty of car and passenger ferries to make use of in Croatia a trip on a ferry is a great way to see more of the country. You can also catch a Hydrofoil if you don't want to take the car and want a fast transfer. Hydrofoil is called "Fast-line" and will take you from, say, Split to Vela Luka on Korcula in 1 hour 45 mins. The main ferry company for Croatia is called Jadrolinija. You can view their routes on a map or in tabular form.
- If you can't get a reasonably priced flight into Dubrovnik, why not just fly into Split and meander down the coast on a ferry? It's only a few hours between Split and Dubrovnik - there's a bar on board and you can leave your car below deck.
- If you want to make your holiday to Croatia very special, why not fly into Venice, spend couple of days enjoying the magnificent history and then catch a fast ferry (passenger only) to the Istrian coast? It's only a few hours between Venice and Umag, Rovinj, Porec, Pula or Opatija - strolling through the Venice lagoon is a unique experience and the ferry journey is very pleasant.
