The fishing village of Rovinj is perhaps the prettiest sea side town in Istria. Originally an island,Rovinj was not connected to the mainland until 1763. Famous for its pastel coloured houses overlooked by its Venetian bell tower, Rovinj is a popular tourist destination, with many hotels, apartments and campsites.It is an area of natural beauty, surrounded by pine forests. Many of the islands off Rovinj are dedicated as protected landscape.
There is plenty to do in Rovinj with activities such as; Water sports, tennis, diving, bowling alley, indoor & outdoor pools, gyms, yachting, windsurfing, and many other sports facilities available. Rovinj is also popular with Divers, the famous wreck of the Baron Gautsch, an Austrian cruise liner sank at the beginning of WW1, lies of its coast.
