Istria is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea and is located at the head of the Adriatic. With a long coastline and green interior it is one of the best developed tourist regions in Croatia. About a third of Istria is forested, and the rest of its interior is made up of vineyards, olive groves and meadows - it is often likened to Tuscany.
Istria is steeped in history and offers plenty of site seeing opportunities.The main towns are: Pula (largest town with population of 82000), Porec, Rovinj, Pazin, Labin, Motoyun, Buzet, Buje and Groznjan. There are 9 marinas on the Istrian coast.
