According to the owners of the hotels in Dubrovnik, there will be more than 1600 new beds in hotels with four stars, as well as about a hundred beds in the five-star category for the new tourist season. The first new capacity to be opened will be Hotel Valamar Lacroma Resort situated in Dubrovnik's neighborhood of Babin kuk,and its opening is planned for May.Valamar group invested 250 million kunas in hotel, and after the reconstruction and improvement of the hotel in the four star category, there will be 385 new double rooms and 16 suites. The hotel will also be able to accommodate more than 800 tourists and will have a restaurant, conference hall, wellness and fitness center and other facilities.Only two months later, in July,in OraŠac the hotel ''Radisson SAS Resort SPA'' will be open for business, and this facility will have four stars, and more than 800 beds in 201 rooms and 207 suites, as well as ancillary facilities, including three outdoor pools, spa central, various sport fields...Two companies that are in charge of renovation have invested a total of 170 million euros in a renovation of this complex that was completely devastated during the war,and they say that it is only a begging and that they will invest even more funds in the future. For this season a new luxury hotel-villa is expected to be open very close to the Old Town,in a town area called Sveti Jakov. Facility will be in a five star category, featuring 48 rooms and eight suites and will be able to accommodate more than a hundred guests, and the investment is estimated to be over ten million euros worth. All these investments are particularly interesting because they are realized at the time of financial crisis, that stopped a number of projects in tourism in the south of Croatia, among them planned restoration of the hotel Kompas owned by British-Croatian businessman Goran Štrok,as well as the Grand Hotel on the island of Lopud, owned by Dubrovnik's oldest maritime company ''Atlantska Plovidba''.Croatia Resources
