Gastronomic miracle in Croatia

Creation of a 500-metre-long Slavonian sausage began on 12.02.2009. at the Ambar family farm in Nustar near Vinkovci in Vukovar-Srijem county.
The sausage will be grilled and distributed to residents of Vinkovci on 14 February as a part of tourism and gastronomic project called "Come to Vinkovci," the  croatian Tportal website has reported.
The Vinkovci tourist board in cooperation with the association "Slavonian native kulen" (type of authentic regional sausage) is responsible for the project.
The sausage will be made from 400 kilos of pork meat, 10 kilos of salt, 2,5 kilos of ground red pepper and 3,5 kilos of garlic.
The organizers are planning to ask the Guinness Book of Records to give the sausage the status of the largest in world history. The record belongs to a Romanian sausage produced last year that was 392 metres long.
The sausage will be large enough to feed around 3,000 people.
