Fifth year of Dubrovnik film festival

Dubrovnik's Libertas Film Festival is celebrating its fifth edition this year and as every year numerous European, regional and Croatian independent film premiers are expecting their audience. This year's official documentary program will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
The program will not only consist of films that concern this issue directly, but will speak of crossing borders in real life as well as metaphorically. Libertas is preparing free projections as a gift to Dubrovnik and always popular Midnight Madness program dedicated to thrillers, horrors and fantasy films. In its 2009 edition Libertas is becoming and OUTDOOR film festival with four stunning locations that will attract not only those in love with Dubrovnik, but also those in love with the 7th art.
Throughout the years, the Festival was visited by various film journalist and critics, film professionals and celebrities such as: Chris Cooper (Academy Award winning actor; USA), Karl Markovics (actor - leading role in Academy Award winning film The Counterfeiters; Austria), Marianne Leone Cooper (actress - leading role in The Sopranos; USA), Woody Harrelson (Emmy Award winning and Academy Award nominated actor - Palmetto, The People Vs. Larry Flynt, Natural Born Killers; USA), Owen Wilson (actor - Night at the Museum, Behind Enemy Lines, Royal Tenenbaums; USA), Branko Blad (theatre and TV actor - Geese, Hair, Sex and the City; Croatia), Ira Sachs (director - Married Life, Forty Shades of Blue; USA), (Marina Zenovich (director - Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired; USA), Vinko Brešan (director - Witnesses, Marshal; Croatia), Trevor Groth (Sundance FF; USA), Mirsad Purivatra (Sarajevo FF; Bosnia and Herzegovina), Peter Bowen (Filmmaker Magazine; USA), Charles Masters (Hollywood reporter; UK) and many others.
