Description:
A model of the luxurious Austro-Hungarian train "Majestic Imperator Train De Luxe" arrived at the Matulji-Opatija railway station last week. The train had around 165 passengers, including 15 Austrian and German journalists from Vienna. They were welcomed at a reception and afterwards taken to the Opatija Hotel Miramar.
The guests will stay in Opatija for three days, during which they will get to know the city and afterwards return to Vienna on the imperial train.
The train is a replica of those used by the Austro-Hungarian royal family.
This is the third year in a row that the train has come to Opatija as a part of a program of revival of the traditions and history of the city and of promotion of its cultural attractions.
Information about the imperial train will be presented today at Miramar Hotel by its owner Gottfried Rieck.
