Vinistra 2009 wine exhibition to open in Poreč

The 16th annual Vinistra exhibition of Istrian wine will take place from 29 April to 2 May at the new Zatica sports hall in Poreč.
Besides featuring wine, cured ham, brandy and other Istrian products, Vinistra 2009 will host the first Malvazija (wine) competition - "The World of Malvazija." The project is intended to promote Istria as a travel destination.
Ivica Matosevic, the head of the Istrian Wine Producers Association, said that Malvazija has became a symbol of the quality of Istrian wine.
There will be some 600 exhibitors at this year's event, with more than 200 Malvazija samples from Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, Greek and Portugal.
