Description:
The first Croatian solar-power plant will be built in Promina municipality, northeast of Tribunj, in Sibenik-Knin county.The municipality's urban plan reserves around 250 hectares of land for the power plant, the daily Jutarnji list has reported.
If the local government agrees, the first solar-power plant will be build by the Zagreb Nexus investment fund.
Nexus representatives Miha Jager and Marko Mahek said that the solar-power plant would have a capacity of 60 MW, 10 MW more than the first and only European solar-power plant in Spain.
The plant, construction of which will take two years and employ 300 workers, will cost around 80 million Euros.
Once finished, the plant will employ almost 100 workers, 80 per cent of whom will be specialists.
The Nexus representatives added that Croatian technology and equipment would be used in construction of the plant.
Jager and Mahek added Nexus wanted to build another solar-power plant near the town of Drnis.
