The World Bank, today, recognized Croatia as the best reformer in Europe and second best reformer in the World. Croatia's economic initiatives and business reforms over the past couple of years won the recognition from the World Bank under the Doing Business WB/IFC Project.
Croatia came second to Egypt in the world's best reformers, others in the top ten were; Ghana, Macedonia, Georgia, Columbia, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, China and Bulgaria.
Croatia won the award due to improved access to credit for businesses, simplifying the procedures for the creation of a new business, reforms at the Land Registry and amendments to its Insolvency Act.
The award was presented to the Croatian Finance Minister, Ivan Suker, at the New York Stock Exchange.
