Croatian camp sites have reported a rise in visitor numbers.Figures from the Croatian camping union show that between the Easter weekend starting 11 April and May Day holidays 4.2 per cent more people stayed in camps than in the same period last year.
Union chiefs said preliminary figures showed 65,800 tourists made 240,000 overnight stays in the period.
The biggest rises were seen at the 'Arenaturist' camp in Pula (57 per cent) and the 'Park Soline' camp in the Dalmatia region.
Adriano Palman, Croatian camping union head said: "Holidaymakers have begun to realise the quality of Croatian camps."
