Description:
Former Croatian national team coach and current trainer of the Bosnia-Herzegovina national team Miroslav Ciro Blazevic has been elected Zagreb assembly member for the next four years. The city assembly, which represents the citizens of Zagreb, was elected on Sunday. Ciro will represent the main Croatian party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
When journalists asked Ciro how he could combine being a trainer in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a politician in Zagreb, he said: "You know I am a responsible person and will attend assembly sessions when I have time."
Ciro, however, is planning to take his team to the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, so it is hardly likely he will return to Zagreb for assembly sessions, the daily Novi List has reported.
Ciro's reply was succinct. He said: "In every life, there are priorities, and, in my life, it is always football. I would lie if I said I would attend assembly sessions at times when I need to be with my team."
