Description:
Croatian Wimbledon contender Ivo Karlovic yesterday lost out to Roger Federer on the chance to make it into the men's singles semi-finals.
Federer powered to victory in a 1 hour 42 minute clash that left the Croat to literally throw down his towel at the end of the match in a match that ended 6-3 7-5 7-6(7-3).
In baking temperatures more akin to those on his own country, Karlovic started to lose his nerve (and serve)in the fourth game of the first set despite not dropping one serve in his 79 games in the tournament up to this point and racking up serve speeds of up to 135 mph.
Federer said of his opponent:"I don't think it's right to call Ivo boring. It's exciting to see him play and thrilling to be the one challenged by him.
