Description:
The island of Hvar, long thought of as one of Croatia's most beautiful islands is being hailed as Croatia's answer to the French Riviera, according to the British newspaper the Independent. All this comes off the back of Hvar's inclusion as one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world by Conde Nast Traveller. The Independent notes that "Most of the island's life centres around two towns: Stari Grad, the northern ferry port situated at the bottom of a five-mile bay and sheltered by densely forested hills, and Hvar town, on the south-west coast, a fashionable harbour resort of glittering bays and nightlife."
Coverage of Croatia's tourist charms have not just been confined to the Independent, recently the Telegraph magazine featured the beach of Zlatni rat in Bol on its front cover, proclaiming it to be one of the most impressive beaches in the Mediterranean!
