The tourist boat, "Amadeus Diamond," entered the port of the city of Osijek in eastern Croatia this week, the first in 90 years.The ship, owned by Austrian firm Lueftner Cruises, has around 150 passengers, mostly from the USA and Europe. It sailed down the Danube River from Vienna and will end its seven-day cruise in Romania.
The city of Osijek recently renovated its port, which cost one million kunas or 136,000 Euros. City port management expects to receive around 50 boats and 7,000 tourists this year.
Osijek was well connected to Budapest and Vienna by steamboat in the 18th and 19th centuries.
