Croatia has announced plans to make it easier for EU nationals to buy property in Croatia - a move that could well boost the property market.
Currently Croatian law states that foreign citizens must either set up a local company to buy property or wait out a lengthy process that could take more than a year. Good news though is at hand; from Feb. 1 of 2009 the rules will be relaxed for EU citizens as Croatia continues to position itself for EU membership.
The government has also shown signs of easing building restrictions to help encourage new development,
