Description:
Some 1,500 people jumped together into the sea from Zadar's sea promenade last weekend.Saturday's so-called "millennium jump" marked the start of summer cultural and sport activities that will be held in Zadar.
Four official jumps with a domino effect occurred during the day.
Human bodies formed the words "Hello World" for a distance of 200 metres along the promenade.
The idea of the millennium jump was the work of Neven Stojaković two years ago. He wanted to promote fun, a clean sea and Zadar's new waterfront. Meanwhile, it has become a big attraction.
Despite a temperature of 36 degrees, numerous jumpers waited for their turn to jump along the waterfront. Among them was the oldest jumper, 78-year-old Ester Brajković.
The jumps were followed by a musical program featuring prominent Croatian opera singers Martina Tomčić and Sandra Bagarić.
The show was recorded from land, air and sea, with live reporting by numerous media.
