Croatia celebrating Thanksgiving Day

Croatia is celebrating Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, a public holiday in Croatia that is a memorial to its War of Independence (1991 to 1995).
The main celebration has traditionally been held in Knin, where senior government officials and Croatian homeland veterans gather. The event is attended by thousands of people.
The holiday celebration began yesterday in all Croatian cities, with many politicians laying wreaths in honour those who died in the war.
