Description:
Cravat Day on 18 October will honour an important Croatian brand.Last year, Parliament approved 18 October as Cravat Day because Cravat was a Croatian brand recognizable throughout the world.
Parliament head Luka Bebić said today that Cravat was a brand that promoted Croatian and European values. Bebić congratulated Academia Cravatica, which had created Cravat as a Croatian brand.
Academia Cravatica is a non-profit institution founded in 1997 that studies, preserves and improves the cravat as a part of Croatia's and the world's heritage.
It believes Cravat Day has contributed to the establishment and awareness of positive values of identity in Croatian society and a recognizable and positive image of Croatia in the world.
The etymology of the word "cravat" has Croatian roots.
On Cravat Day, soldiers wearing 17th-century uniforms will assemble in front of Parliament.
