Description:
The Croatian Employers Association and the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Andro Vlahusic have backed calls by local businesses in Dubrovnik to make the Euro legal currency. They say that tourism is suffering and people cannot find places to exchange their money quickly and easily and that this is damaging trade. The Croatian National Bank (HNB) Governor Zeljko Rohatinski said that this would not be a good idea and that: "If we allow both the Euro and the kuna to be used shops would have to display prices in both currencies and they will have exchange rate status, meaning we would need new agreements with banks etc."
