Croatian Olive Oil - One of the best in the world

The Croatian firm Olea B.B.'s extra-virgin olive oil has won the award for best in its category, according to Italian publication "L'extravergine guide" (Extra-Virgin Guide). The award ceremony took place on Friday in Rome, where all the best products of 2008 were presented. Olea B.B. owner Dulio Belic accepted the award. Belic and his wife have about 5,000 olive trees in Istria and are involved in producing extra-virgin olive for the last six years. L'extravergine experts analysed more than 3,000 samples of olive oil from 37 countries, including that from 54 Croatian producers, most of which are in Istria and a few in Dalmatia.
