Nikolay Davydenko wins the ATP Studena Croatia Open Tournament

Nikolay Davydenko won the 20th ATP Studena Croatia Open Tournament in Umag. He won against his opponent Juan Carlos Ferrero with 6:3 and 6:0. Ferrero started to weaken after half an hour and was not able to cope with Davydenko’s game.

The trophy for Nikolay Davydenko was handed by the Croatian president Stipe Mesic. Davydenko said that it was a great honor to meet Stipe Mesic and announced a comeback to the tournament.

 

Nikolay Davydenko was born on June 2nd in 1981 in Severodonezk, Ukraine. The right handers’ current residence is Volgograd, Russia. He started playing tennis at the age of seven with his older brother who was a passionate player and had a great influence on Davydenko’s professional career.
