The UN Predicts a Better Tourist Season for Croatia

06 February 2010

Description:

According to the UN World Tourism Organization, this year's tourist season in Croatia will be better than the last one. Last year, the whole world tourism market experienced a decline of 4% because of the global economic crisis and the swine flu pandemic. Croatia registered 10,570,398 tourists’ arrivals, which is a 3% decline comparing to 2008. In Croatia, the number of foreign tourists from Austria, Ukraine, Japan, Poland, Italy and Germany increased for 1% in the last year. However, the number of tourists from Russia, USA, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Great Britain and France declined. Considering that this year the international tourist arrivals will rise for 2%, it can be said that this year’s tourist season will be better than the last year. The number of visitors in Croatia will increase for 2% which means that former visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Slovenia and Great Britain will visit Croatia again this year.
