Description:
Croatia’s oldest brewery, Daruvar, was put up in auction on Thursday January 28th. The asking price of 4 Million Euros had to be reduced to 2.2 Million to try to attract a buyer, however there was no one willing to buy the debt riddled company.
Bankruptcy administrator Branko Valentic has added that the buyer would receive the brewery without its debt, which is believed to be in the region of 14.5 Million euros.
Although it is still operating with around 70 workers, and has been since 1840, Daruvar declared bankruptcy last May.
This fourth attempt to sell the brewery is to be followed by a fifth that will take place on the 1st of March.
