The biggest ship of its kind in the world built in Split shipyard, Croatia
In Brodosplit, new boat was officially baptized with the name "Orange star". It is particularly sophisticated ship, an orange juice-carrier, a ship intended for the transport of fresh chilled fruit juice, and is built for a Swiss client Atlanship SA.
One of the last new construction in the Split shipyard was built without a single kuna of state aid, but due to ban of new contracts three thousands and a half workers are still anxious waiting for news from Brussels.
Ironically, just during the greatest crisis in the history of Split, the shipyard has acomplished perhaps the best results: on Thursday it delivered 'juice carrier' the biggest ship of its kind in the world and the first built outside of Norway. It is completely designed and developed in Brodosplit, so it should be a serious reference for the future . Not even single kuna of state subsidies has been used for its construction!
Construction of two new boats is in progress.
First, 'ro-pax' worth billion kuna, is currently being equiped and prepared for handover to the French owners who will engage it in ship connection between Marseille and Corsica. It will be officially the most expensive ship ever built inCroatia. For Swedes however, tanker for sail in icy seas is being finalized.
Well, it seems that Croatian shipyards can still operate positively without government aid. Too bad that decades were spent on the exhaustion of money and support for incompetent bosses, so that today the whole Croatian shipbuilding industry isanxious waiting for news from Brussels. But with professional management, that operates for more than a year, Brodosplit was able to pass without any problems.
