The first place was given to Varazdin with the words: 'Admire the magnificent and well-preserved baroque architecture of the former Croatian capital.'

Recently, Varazdin was awarded with "Silver Flower of Europe" because of the quality of life and urban design

 

The author puts Zagreb on the second place, highlighting winding medieval streets of the Upper Town, museums, galleries and a rich nightlife. Check out four things you can only see in Zagreb, recommended by Wall Street Journal

 

Samobor, a charming town situated on the eastern slopes of the Samobor mountain, ranked third on the list. If you happen to find yourself there, you must try a slice of cream custard cake that this town is famous for. Days of Samobor Cream Custard Cake are celebrated every year in May.

 

Istrian charming city of Pula is forth, due to the Roman ruins and concerts in the magnificent amphitheater.

 

Fifth place went to the Plitvice lakes and their aquatic wonders of lakes and waterfalls, and six to National Park Krka with the recommendation: 'Enjoy on board the views of the rocky canyon up to the monastery.'

 

The town of Hvar took seventh place, 'Sunbathe and swim in the sea during the day and at night go party!' article says, describing Hvar as a place with rich night life. It is increasingly popular among celebrities... Beyonce and Britain's prince Harry visited it this summer!

 

Korcula Island is in eighth place, with suggestion for visitors to explore the town of Korcula, and the whole island, its forests and hills. Did you know that Penelope Cruz was filming her new film 'Venuto al Mondo' on Korcula island, this summer?

 

Mljet is in ninth place, and as mentioned, it is ideal for exploration by bike, boat or hiking. If you want some adventure, discover Odysseus Cave on Mljet island.

 

And last, but not least, Dubrovnik , 'Adriatic pearl' that certainly deserves this name..
