The Vela Nera Restaurant, owned by Dušan ÄŒernjul, is located on the seaside in the Marina Veruda, next to Pula. In fact, the entire interior of the restaurant smells of the sea. When you sit in the restaurant, you have the feeling that you are sailing on a luxury yacht that just happens to provide a unique gastronomic experience. In the middle of the dining room above the bar there is real wooden mast with a black sail (vela nera means black sail in Italian), which further lends to the nautical ambience and makes for a special atmosphere.
Olive trees have been planted on the terrace, giving it the atmoshere of a Mediterranean paradise. On quiet evenings, when the magnificent colors of the setting sun bathe the sky above the sea, only the periodic screech of a seagull reminds you that all of this is real. A unique romantic moment on the terrace of this restaurant can be experienced without words, perhaps only with a sigh.
Dušan ÄŒernjul, who is the owner and manager of the restaurant, with his many years of experience at the top of Croatian gastronomy, has expanded his menu, learning from the best chefs and sommeliers in the world, and in the end gives all of himself to the restaurant. That is why the restaurant's kitchen breathes creativity, innovation and originality.
In addition to traditional and international dessert specialties, the restaurant offers more than 150 types of wine that the best Croatian sommeliers recommend. All of them learned from one of the best sommeliers in this part of Europe, Dušan ÄŒernjul, a true wine lover who is considers being a sommelier as a way of life. During the year, the restaurant plays host to foreign restauranteurs, and it also holds celebrations like a week of French cuisine and a week of Tuscan cuisine.
