Description:
"The God Neptune marched in from the sea, bringing to land handfuls of seafood delicacies. On the beach he meets Bacchus with a cup of wine and together they taste his treasures. Ah, what a beach and look at the garden that is growing so nicely there. Call some Muse and let her inspire the people who live here to make a place in the middle of the garden and next to the beach where even mortals can enjoy themselves like us. One morning Lidija awakes and wants to open a restaurant next to the sea. She looks across the rolling sea and calls it BLU. So began the Restaurant Blu, owned by Ms. Lidie Fabris, which is located where everything is blue - sky and sea ... In the midst of this blueness, nearby, sailing along like a gently rocking boat is the peninsula of ancient Rovinj. The sound of the waves just below our feet brings the blueness to Blu."The typical character of the Restaurant Blu is its kitchen based on local ingredients acquired exclusively in Istria. It is not a classic kitchen, but the ingredients are prepared in a unique way, and the orientation of the restaurant is a fusion of cuisines. The riches of the Istrian sea and hills are transformed into a completely new miracle, enlivened with spicy herbs from the garden next to the restaurant. While delicacies are created under the skillful hands of Franc Bercan, the sommelier, Siniša Škabern, ensures that you join every course with just the right wine, sometimes from a Croatian vineyard, and sometimes from one on the other side of the world.
"Food stimulates our senses - taste, smell, but also the eye. I am satisfied when we succeed in stimulating all of these in our guests," comments the restaurant's owner Lidija Fabris.
